ESG Policy
SKS upholds the corporate mission of “Guarding Security and Creating Value”. We infuse our operating management and decision-making mechanisms with sustainable development concepts, and continuously implement environmental protection, social responsibility and corporate governance (ESG). Given the accelerating worldwide trend toward the low-carbon transformation and sustainable governance, the Company is steadily building on our foundation of expert services to join with our customers, cooperating partners, and society at large in responding to environmental and social challenges. We are putting responsible corporate management into practice.
Looking to the future, SKS will continue to use innovative thinking and forward-looking strategies to deepen our sustainable governance, steadily implementing net-zero transformation actions, and using multi-sector collaboration and social participation to promote corporate growth alongside social good. We will do our utmost to create safer, more secure, more sustainable living environments for the next generation.
- Ethical management: We uphold an operating culture of ethicality and responsibility, continually strengthening our internal controls and risk management mechanisms. By realizing our service commitment of “Securely Guarding”, we ensure stability and transparency in corporate operations.
- Information Disclosure: We periodically publish sustainability reports, and refer to international standards in strengthening the quality of sustainability information disclosure, in order to enhance information transparency and stakeholder trust.
- Sustainable development strategy: Through the governance mechanisms of the Sustainable Development Committee, we are gradually introducing ESG targets into operating strategies and management processes. By doing this, we are realizing systematic management and continuous improvement for sustainability issues.
- Energy conservation and carbon reduction: By using smart technology, we can enhance energy resource management efficiency and lower carbon emissions through operations. By gradually introducing renewable energy and renewable energy credit mechanisms, we help enhance the proportion of green energy usage, while simultaneously participating vigorously in government and industry carbon reduction initiatives.
- Green Operations: We are introducing energy-conserving equipment and low-carbon vehicles; implementing low-carbon offices and green operating modes; and encouraging our supply-chain partners to join with us in realizing green procurement and environmental management.
- Resource Recycling: We are implementing paperless operations and reducing usage of single-use plastics. We are also strengthening management of waste sorting, recycling, and reuse, while simultaneously continuing to implement reclamation of outdated machines and appropriate handling mechanisms. All of this helps enhance resource usage efficiency and lower impacts on the environment.
- Climate Risk Management: We continue to assess the potential impacts of climate change on corporate operations, and we are gradually building up our climate risk management and adaptation strategies, in order to enhance the Company’s capacity for responding to climate change.
- Employee equity and workplace safety: We do our utmost to create workplace environments of fairness, safety, and diverse inclusion. This ensures employee equity and continuously enhances workplace safety and benefit systems.
- Building community security: Through our An-Shin Classroom, we promote residential safety, disaster prevention, and anti-scam awareness. This helps enhance community members’ ability to recognize every safety/security risks and digital fraud, and thus strengthening overall public security awareness and prevention abilities.
- Care for elderly and disadvantaged people: Through the home visit services and volunteer care actions, we show our concern for the safety and living needs of elders and people with disabilities living in remote regions and living alone. Integrating the Company’s expert provision of security protection and emergency reporting support, we help elevate everyday safety and care support for disadvantaged populations.
- Education and Talent Development: Through our internal training and specialized development mechanisms, we develop specialized talent for security service and technological applications, while also gradually strengthening employee understandings of and practical capabilities with sustainable development topics.
- Public Welfare Cooperation: We join hands with public and private organizations, social welfare organizations, and our collaborating partners to implement a variety of public welfare actions. We also collaborate with university/college university social responsibility (USR) programs, using security education, community service, youth practice, and other such cooperation modes to jointly promote local development and shared social good.
